Services for children, young people and families within Gwent are currently undergoing exciting transformation and have benefitted from significant recent investment and newly developed services. As a senior clinician within our service you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of these developments.

An opportunity has arisen for someone with substantial knowledge and experience of working with children and young people's mental health to join the Primary Care Mental Health Support Service (PCMHSS) as a Specialist Practitioner. In order to apply for this post one of the following qualifications is essential. Registered Nurse - Mental Health, Registered Nurse- Learning Disabilities, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Practitioner Psychologist.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining good multiagency partnerships and communication, representing PCMHSS at our Single Point of Access for Children's Emotional Wellbeing (SPACE-Wellbeing) panel.

The core purpose of our service is to deliver the five functions of Part One of the Mental Health Measure. Working with a high level of professional autonomy, the role will include direct clinical work and the provision of clinical leadership, supervision, consultation and training to junior PCMHSS staff and other professionals. There will be training and development opportunities for the successful applicants, as well as the opportunity to contribute to new initiatives and developments within the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
