The Disabilities Trust are looking for Mental Health Nurses (RMN) and Learning Disabilities Nurses (RNLD) to join our highly skilled multidisciplinary team, at our leading-edge neuro rehabilitation hospital, York House.

York House is a thirty-eight bedded independent hospital offering intensive neurobehavioural assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for service users with acquired brain injuries. Our service specialises in supporting adults with a range of complex needs, including challenging behaviour and health comorbidities. Using a combination of neuropsychiatry and the neurobehavioral model, people with cognitive, physical and emotional/behavioural problems can be supported in a skilled and structured environment.

In the role of a staff nurse at York House you will have the opportunity to work with a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team consisting of specialist neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, nursing, rehabilitation support workers, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and music therapy. In return, you will be supported to develop specialist skills to compliment your own continuing professional development, including training specifically relating to brain injury rehabilitation.

The successful candidate will be willing to make a difference to service users and their families, be confident in both leading a team and working independently to provide high quality person centred care. The nursing role at York House also requires you to work in collaboration with the NHS, commissioning teams, case managers and other external professionals.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and oral and using a variety of media
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience of supervising staff with the ability to empower staff, adhere to employment law legislation and delegate tasks
  • Ability to use own initiative and be flexible in approach
  • Ability to deal positively with problems and difficult situations

We are offering a great benefits package:

  • Competitive salary - £32,187.54 per annum increasing to £33,650.62 after 3 years
