Job Details

Are you looking for a fresh challenge? If so, the University of Oxford’s Covid-19 Early Alert Service (test and trace) is looking to recruit pragmatic nurses with excellent communication and organisational skills to participate in the day to day running of this service. You will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team.

We are looking for experienced and knowledgeable nurses with excellent communication and coordination skills to work and organise the clinical sessions. You will coordinate clinical staff, including nurses and possibly healthcare assistants, in delivery of the service, and you will provide leadership during the sessions in absence of senior nurses.

It is likely that your responsibilities will alter as this service establishes itself.  You will be required to undertake a wide range of activities.

Reporting into and deputising for the Nurse Team Leader and working closely with various EAS colleagues, you will participate in creating staff rotas, planning appointment availability and implementing the standard operating procedures for the testing units.

You will support the nursing staff in each testing unit and will ensure that quality standards are maintained throughout the testing functions, as well as ensuring each test unit is in an appropriate state of cleanliness and has the necessary staffing and supplies ready for each clinical session.

You will be an NMC registered nurse with previous experience in an NHS setting, community, practice or public health nursing setting and knowledge of infection control is highly desirable.

This new opportunity is fixed term, up to six months in the first instance with opportunities for job sharing and secondments.  This is a full-time post, however part-time hours will be considered.  The hours will include evening and weekend work to allow maximum flexibility for our pool of highly experienced and dedicated nursing staff.
