Critical Care Junior Sister/ Charge Nurse - Oxford Manor Hospital - Up to 38,000k per annum

The Role

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and you will be able to provide clinical leadership, act as a mentor and role model, manage complex patient care, and lead the unit in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. You will support individuals and teams to deliver safe, high quality and effective patient care that is responsive to the needs of our patients and their families. Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with consultants, hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, patients.

To succeed as a Critical Care Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you will:

  • Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, your specialist training should include a Critical Care postgraduate qualification and a minimum of ILS, ideally ALS.
  • You will have extensive experience of managing level 2 and 3 patients, for post-surgery or intervention.
  • You will have experience working in a Critical Care setting and must have evidence of Critical Care competencies at level 1 and either achieved or working towards level 2.
  • You will have experience being the Nurse in Charge of shifts, together with some mentoring experience.
  • It is essential to have clinical assessment skills and a physical examination course would be desirable. Together with the Critical Care Senior Charge Nurse/ Sister you'll be accountable for leading, motivating, educating and supervising the nursing team.
