We are delighted to be recruiting to these brand new trail blazer positions based across 2 Primary Care Networks in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin area. It is anticipated that further posts will follow across the other PCNs soon after.

The posts are in response to a commitment by NHS England to invest in an extra 3,000 mental health therapist roles within primary careBe a part of this positive change and make a real difference in your Community.

The roles will support the delivery of a timely and responsive mental health service through a single point of access to the people of Shropshire and Telford& Wrekin who are experiencing mental health issues that can be treated effectively in primary care. .

The Mental Health Practitioners will work flexibly as part of GP Practice Teams, ensuring the service is not only accessible but innovative in addressing service users’ mental health and any co-existing social care needs.

Applicants should have relevant experience and competence in:

  • Robust assessing of a range of adult mental health issues or child/adolescent mental health issues dependent on the post applied for
  • Risk identification and management
  • Positive relationship building across a variety of stakeholder groups
  • Expert navigation of a range of support, social and clinical services
  • Co-production at all levels working with service users/ carers, voluntary sector organisations and other statutory providers
  • Confidence in being able to use multiple electronic health record systems
