Due to expansion of our service post opening of a “New State of the Art Intensive Care Unit” we are looking to recruit committed and enthusiastic nurses for an opportunity to enhance and develop their skills within a positive and challenging environment, by joining the friendly team based on the Intensive Care Unit at Torbay Hospital.

The successful applicant must be prepared to provide high quality evidence based care and be flexible and proactive in adapting to meet the needs of the service and must have recently worked in acute settings. Effective communication skills and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team are integral to the role. The work is varied, changes quickly and can be physically, mentally and emotionally challenging, the unit recognises the importance of providing support to facilitate team members to maintain good health and well-being.

The post offers an excellent opportunity for both personal and professional development. The Practice Education team coordinate individualised support and development based on the National Critical Care Competencies utilising simulation and team building, as well as providing opportunities to attend national conferences and study days. The teams within the unit are skilled and highly motivated and actively engage in innovative multidisciplinary care provision and research.
