An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and driven individual to join our IPC team at PAHT. You will be an integral part of the team on delivering of a high quality service and to support the Trust in meeting the requirements of the Health & Social Care Act 2008: the code of practice on the prevention and control of infections.

This demanding but rewarding role will encompass all functions of the team, providing specialist support, advice and expertise to all disciplines within the organisation, you'll be supported by the Director of Infection Prevention & Control and Head of Infection Prevention & Control to ensure we deliver the best service for our people and patients.

Main duties of the job

You'll have an exciting opportunity of being an integral part of the development and planning of the new hospital build for Harlow, you'll support the Head of IP&C with this project an opportunity not to be missed.

You will work as a highly specialised member of the Infection Prevention and Control Team, working closely with the Director of Infection Prevention and Control, the Head of Infection Prevention and Control and all other members of the team.

Job description/Job responsibilities

  • Work autonomously to be responsible for providing specialist clinical advice, support and leadership for all health care professionals across the organisation.
  • Maintain a high profile in the clinical area, acting as a resource and role model is pivotal to this position.
  • Provide expert advice and support in the investigation and management of incidents and outbreaks of healthcare associated infection.
  • Work in collaboration within the team, the Director of Infection Prevention and Control, Consultant Microbiologists, laboratory staff, ward/clinical teams, Clinical Site Management team and all staff in the Trust
