THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 5 MONTHS DUE TO THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE.

Due to the secondment of the current post holder to the Covid Vaccination programme we are looking for a registered general nurse with experience in enteral feeding to join our home enteral feeding team based in the HQ building at St Cadoc's Hospital.

This may be of interest if you are keen to develop specialist knowledge and skills in Community Adult Enteral Tube feeding and would enjoy working as part of a close knit community team.

The secondment for 6 months is to start as soon as possible and could be part time over 3 days or full time over 5 days. The current post holder will support you through a transition period to provide key skills update and hand over. The role will include home visits, in reach to acute settings and MDT working.

As a key member of ABUHB Specialist Community Enteral Feeding Service for Adults responsibilities will include:

Specialist Nursing assessment, review and support of all adult patients living with enteral feeding in the community

Prevent Hospital admissions by providing timely review, assessment and troubleshooting problems relating to enteral feeding tubes and tube feeding procedures

Provide an in reach service when required to support staff education to manage patients admitted to Hospital on the Enteral feeding caseload

Nursing assessment of patients considering having enteral feeding tube placement, as part of the MDT pre assessment Gastrostomy placement service

Assisting the service development, implementation and monitoring of professional and departmental standards, policies and procedures.

Provision of Education and training in enteral feeding and nutrition support practices for all healthcare professionals

To assist in collaboration with the enteral feeding team in the development of service policies, procedures and resources.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
