Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse (REF:50699)

Substantive, Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Band 7 - Salary Range £39,693 - £46,467 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,895 per annum

A relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available

We are seeking a highly motivated, autonomous practitioner to lead and redesign the Macmillan Cancer and Palliative care service across NHS Shetland.  You will manage the Macmillan Nursing team whilst providing nursing leadership and expertise in cancer and palliative care .The role will include leading the nurse-led satellite chemotherapy unit and contribute to the education, training and support of fellow health professionals

You will be a Registered General Nurse with extensive post registration experience working within Cancer and Palliative care Services.  You should hold a degree level qualification or be able to evidence working at an equivalent level through experience and professional development.  A broad knowledge of Oncology/ Haematology/ Chemotherapy and palliative care along with excellent communication skills, experience of and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential. Skills in audit and policy work would be desirable.

A full, current driving licence is also essential for this post.
