Ipswich has a CQC rating of good with many areas highlighted as outstanding such as our staff, teams and other services worked exceptionally well together as a multidisciplinary team, the care provided to patients and outcomes for people who used the service were outstanding.

About the person and the role

We're looking for a registered nurse with surgical experience to join our preoperative assessment team. It is a small team of qualified and support staff delivering a high standard of preoperative assessment, delivering robust processes and clear communication with the rest of the hospital.

The role of the preoperative assessment nurse is to ensure patient safety, and best practice is adhered to at all times.

You will be involved in managing your own caseload of patients, reporting to the preoperative assessment lead where you will be a key part of a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Registered nurse (RN/RGN)

  • Have experience working in a surgical role and ideally in a preoperative assessment environment.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Patient focused, with a passion and enthusiasm for preoperative assessment
