We are looking for an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to support our growing caseload within the cardiology outpatient diagnostic and interventional services

Supported by our Clinical Head of Department, Adrian Armitage, you'll have autonomy to utilise your acquired expertise and skills to make decisions that will ensure the delivery of excellent patient care. The work is exciting, varied and challenging, the multiple specialities will enable you to develop new skills and grow.

In this role, you will help develop, expand and enable new and complex cardiology interventional procedures in the cardiac cath lab. Specifically, transaortic valve implantation (TAVI), PFO/ASD closures, electrophysiology and cardiac ablation, device implantation and coronary angiography/stenting procedures.

As a Senior Cardiac Physiologist, duties include:

  • Providing high quality diagnostic testing and analysis using a wide range of physiological measurement techniques within the job holders scope of practice e.g. (Stress testing; Cardiac monitoring and analysis; 12 ECG lead and interpretation; Ambulatory Blood pressure monitoring; Lung function testing).
  • Cardiac device implantation and management i.e, pacemaker, implantable diagnostic devices, Cardiac Resynchronisation, Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator.
  • Remote cardiac device monitoring.
  • Transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography.
  • To undertake the assessment, or clinical support activity to the highest possible standard, following all relevant guidelines, policies and procedures
  • During assessments, to monitor the individual and evaluate the findings, taking the appropriate action in relation to any significant changes or possible risks
  • Angioplasty and Stenting procedures
  • Structural intervention i.e. TAVI, LAAO, PFO closure

To succeed as a Cardiac Physiologist you will;

  • Be currently be registered with the RCCP as a Clinical Physiologist.
  • Hold a BTEC ONC and HNC Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement and / or BSc Clinical Science /Physiology or equivalent experience.
  • As required for RCCP registration; you will also have a valid Immediate Life Support certificate.
  • Accreditation with professional bodies such as SCST and BSE would be desirable.
  • An excellent communicator and team worker
