As an Ophthalmology Theatre Practitioner you will;
- Enjoy opportunities to work on a varied caseload using technology, equipment and facilities, which are all state-of-the-art.
- Ensure practice is up to date and evidence based in line with NICE guidance.
- Maintain education and training in ophthalmology topics so that you and the nurses working there are competent in any new techniques.
- Be responsible for the delivery of care throughout the pre-operative patients.
- Assist Consultants with other minor procedures.
- Carry out nurse led pre-operative assessments prior to ophthalmic surgery.
- Support with Ophthalmic treatments including laser surgery
- Further opportunities for service expansion at our Cardiff Bay Hospital and to work at our sister site in the Vale of Glamorgan with a wider range of specialities.
What are we looking for in an Ophthalmology Theatre Practitioner? You will have;
- Qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC.
- Post-registration experience.
- Ophthalmic trained
- Flexible with working hours - long days, early and late shifts.
- Great communication with patients and the multidisciplinary team
- Work closely with leading consultants and other like-minded professionals, who will respect and value what you bring to the close-knit multidisciplinary team.
Salary - £20 per hour
Cardiff and the Vale
The theatre is open from Monday to Friday.
