  • Full time: 37 hours per week including some weekend shifts or on-call flexibility.
  • Up to £44,127 per annum

Haviland House is a specialist dementia care home located at the foot of the South Downs in Goring, West Sussex. It was purpose built in 2015 to fulfil the needs of residents living with different stages of dementia. In our latest inspection, Haviland House was rated 'Outstanding' for responsiveness by the CQC.

In 2019 Haviland House was a ‘Best Dementia Care Home’ finalist in the National Dementia Care Awards and the home’s Health & Wellbeing Coordinator won the National Activity Providers Association’s ‘Best Activity Coordinator’ award.

Our key focus is providing a truly person-centred approach, developed specifically to meet the needs of our residents living with dementia. It is important that Haviland House feels like a real home, so we have created an environment in which our residents are happy, independent and confident.

There are five unique, separate households across three stories which are designed to care for particular stages of dementia, allowing specific needs to be catered for. Each household has its own dedicated dementia support carers, who can build rapport, friendship and stability with the residents that they care for.

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager (Clinical Lead) to work at Haviland House, leading and managing the nursing team and deputizing for the Manager as required. You will manage the delivery of care within the home and be the first point of contact regarding family members’ / residents’ clinical and health-related needs.

You will be expected to practice as a registered nurse upholding high standards of safe professional nursing care, remaining compliant with NMC standards of conduct and supporting delegated healthcare in the home.

As part of the role, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care of people living in the home using evidence-based practice working with medical and other community professionals to ensure that family members receive the best possible care. You will provide up to date advice, support, supervision, liaison, education, training and leadership in regard to nursing and social care so that people living with complex needs are supported to live well, safely and have fulfilled lives. You will ensure that the service provides a safe environment, personal support and care in a way that is focused on the individual and is based on what matters to them. To work with people in a way that continually demonstrates a focus on being safe, caring, person-centred and relationship focused.

We are looking for someone to bring reliability, commitment, integrity, passion and the enthusiasm to the role that people using our service deserve. You will be yourself, have a sense of fun and take ownership for all aspects of your role, whilst being a positive role model for staff and an ambassador for Guild Care.
