Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse, who enjoys working with young people, to join our Health Centre nurse team as a Nursing Sister.

Our Health Centre is staffed 24 hours a day by a team of nurses, all of whom are committed to the health and wellbeing of every member of the Wellington Community. The nurse team are trained to deal with illnesses and injuries which may occur to pupils, staff or visitors on site, and many of the team have training that enables us to offer specialist advice and many other health services. Join us, and you too could be delivering high quality nursing care to our young people.

Providing first aid and emergency care, confidential counselling and health advice and general care to anyone seeking help are all aspects of the role of the Nursing Sister. You will also need to be continually aware of pupils with underlying medical conditions and to act accordingly. Making appointments on behalf of pupils, enabling them to obtain prescriptions, liaising with staff about any concerns regarding pupils and maintaining accurate records – is all part of the role. And, all the while, you will need to make sure you comply with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

A Registered First Level Nurse, your proven post-registration nursing practice experience includes demonstrable evidence-based practice. You are also comfortable taking individual accountability within an environment that supports clinical supervision. It goes without saying that you are smart and professional in appearance, but you will also need to be adaptable and flexible regarding working patterns. Numerate, accurate and with excellent attention to detail, you live within a 45 minute commute and, above all, are enthusiastic and keen to learn and develop.

Not only is this an excellent career development opportunity, it comes with a generous salary and benefits package too. So, if you would like to join our highly skilled, but very sociable and welcoming health centre team, apply to join us today!
