University Hospital Sussex is one of the biggest acute Trusts in the UK and this role as Director of Nursing is an integral part of the newly merged Trust senior nursing team reporting to the Chief Nurse. The role will work as part of the senior leadership team, with internal accountability and autonomy to lead, drive and coordinate programmes on improved patient outcomes and patient care. You’ll be responsible for a corporate portfolio and deputise for the Executive Chief Nurse.

The primary responsibility of the role as part of the executive Chief Nurses senior team will include addressing the corporate agenda and providing professional, clinical and strategic direction for the Trust’s operational transformation projects, across PLACE and the Integrated Care System (ICS). You’ll also provide leadership support to the nurses, midwives and AHP’s across the Trust delivering true ‘Compassion and Dignity’ in care.
