Operating Department Practitioner - Recovery

Nuffield Health is Britain's largest not-for-profit healthcare organisation. Join us as a Theatre Nurse/ ODP in Anaesthetics & Recovery at our Brentwood Hospital and play your part in building a healthier nation.

Our Theatre department has 4 theatres which facilitate Major Ortho Hip/Knee spinal fusions, Major Gynae both laparoscopic and open, Urology including laser HOLEPs and cutting edge SPACEOAR procedures, ENT including surgical procedures with two Professors, Plastic surgery including a world renown DIEP surgeon, General Surgery, Opthalmics and Maxxilofacial.

You will be encouraged to develop with a number of resources we have available; you will have access to are extensive learning and development prospectus, be able to utilise our digital theatre which doubles up as a teaching tool with links to other hospitals, surgical first assist training (SFA) and opportunity to undertake Advanced life support training (ALS) . You are supported by a knowledgeable, friendly and hardworking team, who can boast recognition from the CQC with an outstanding review for Safety.

As a Theatre Nurse/ ODP - Anaesthetic & Recovery you will;

  • Work closely with leading consultants and other like-minded professionals, who will respect and value what you bring to the close-knit multidisciplinary team.

  • Enjoy opportunities to work on a varied caseload using technology, equipment and facilities, which are all state-of-the-art.

  • Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff.

  • Deliver high quality care and experiences for patients, which is always clinically effective, evidence based and appropriate.

  • As part of the wider hospital team you will interact with colleagues on the ward because you understand that continuity in patient care is key.


The Person

To succeed as a Theatre Nurse/ ODP - Anaesthetic & Recovery you will have;

  • Qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC.

  • Post-registration experience.

  • Excellent communication skills and will be a great team worker. You will also be flexible and motivated.

Salary - Up to £34,750 per annum (Dependant On Experience)
