An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Cardiac Catheter Lab / Cardiac Day Unit in the new Grange University Hospital. Cardiology is fortunate in having a dedicated Cardiac Catheter Suite. We undertake a variety of procedures including Angiography, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Pacemakers and Complex devices, Implantable loop recorder, Cardioversions, Transoesophageal Echocardiogram(TOE), Pre-assessment clinics and Dobutamine Etress Echocardiograms(DSE).

In this role you will provide pre and post procedure nursing care to patients undergoing Coronary Angiograms, PCI, Pacemakers (including defibrillators and heart failure devices), TOE and DSE.

You will work in the lab and on the day case unit within our multidisciplinary team ensuring safe practice is delivered within the Cardiology department. You will rotate between the Cardiac Catheter Suite and recovery bay, supporting pre-assessment clinic and procedures..

You must be a 1st Level Registered Nurse (Diploma/Degree), with generic pre-registration experience in an acute setting. It is desirable that you have worked within a hospital environment and this specialty. Previous experience in cardiac catheterisation and pacemaker implantation is not essential since training will be provided, however, prior consideration will be given to experience.

This role is for the dynamic forward thinking individual who can demonstrate learning and aid in service development.

Working hours: Monday to Friday and some Saturdays but will change to include some weekend / evening working as the service develops.
