Location – The Portland Hospital-London 

Hours: 37.5 hrs PW (Long days/nights/weekends)  Fixed Term Contract until 31/08/2022

Salary - £34,880-£39,240 dependent on Skills & Experience and inclusive of 9% shift allowance +  Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development) 

 

We have a brilliant opportunity for a Staff Nurse at The Portland Hospital Acute Surgical ward. The role will play a vital role in delivering on expert patient care.  

 Please note this is a Fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave.

 

As a Registered Staff Nurse working in our Acute surgical inpatients you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that our patients are cared for in a safe, compassionate and comfortable environment. As a Staff Nurse you will meet physical, psychological and spiritual needs by effectively communicating with the patient, their families and your colleagues. 

Staff Nurse duties will include undertaking extended roles such as venipuncture, cannulation and phlebotomy, contributing to the ongoing research-based care and other practice development initiatives. As a Staff Nurse you would recognising the signs and symptoms of a deteriorating patients and initiate early interventions in a calm and co-ordinated manner. 

 

Skills & Experience: 

  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support  

  • Understanding of Safeguarding issues  

  • Ideally experience working within a paediatric HDU  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
