We are looking for enthusiastic nurses, with a desire to learn and who are keen to work at the leading edge of cardiothoracic practice in a fast-paced ward setting. You will need to be a highly motivated nurse who is committed to delivering high standards of care and can demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills.

You will also work closely with the ward manager and multi-disciplinary team to monitor and maintain excellent standards of nursing practice and staff development. You’ll be supported in undertaking management competencies to develop within this role. Juniper is 20 bedded private patients ward that includes 4 high dependency beds.

The ward cares for transplant, cardiology thoracic and cardiac surgical patients allowing you to gain experience within this speciality. The high dependency area cares for patients with a range of conditions requiring interventions such as, inotropic support, Central Venous and Arterial lines, LVADs, Non-invasive ventilation and temporary pacing. There is the opportunity to undertake competencies to work within the High Dependency area if this is an area of interest to you.

Our Practice Education Team will support you through a supernumery period during your orientation to the ward. You’ll have the opportunity to attend a preceptorship programme, in-house study days and regular surgical team days to support your learning and keep you up to date with current practice. Following orientation and completion of relevant competencies, you will have the opportunity to access university-based post-graduate courses.
