In 2021, we'll open the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital: The City of London's only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew's NHS hospital, Nuffield Health at St Barts will be our flagship centre for cardiac services and will also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, gynaecology and urology surgery.

The new hospital will consist of:

  • 48 inpatient and day case bedrooms

  • 28 consultation rooms

  • Three digital operating theatres

  • Cardiac catheterisation lab

  • Specialist intensive care beds

  • Oncology day unit

  • Endoscopy and minor ops theatre

  • Full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced , dynamic and forward thinking Cardiac Physiologists to join our brand new team at Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew`s Hospital for a variety of roles: on a bank, part-time or full-time basis. Operationally responsible for the clinical delivery of the full range of services required ready for doors opening, you'll enjoy the chance to make a real difference with Nuffield Health. We'll expect you to actively contribute to service development, policies and strategies, and to also assist with preparing the hospital to open in 2021.

The successful candidates will contribute to service provision with invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations. An ability to work flexibly across different areas would be an advantage.

Applicants will ideally be competent in a wide variety of non-invasive & invasive cardiac procedures including

  • ECGs

  • Holter and ambulatory BP monitor fitting

  • Holter analysis

  • Assisting in exercise testing

  • Invasive Cardiology (Diagnostics and Electrophysiology)

  • Pacing and Device checks

  • Echocardiography

You will be expected to demonstrate maturity and experience consistent with the grade and position. You should be registered with the RCCP as a clinical physiologist and BSE accredited, your specialist Cardiac training should include a Cardiac Physiologist qualification and postgraduate courses.

Once the hospital is operational, you will support the Imaging Manager & Cardiac Services Managers to deliver high quality, clinically effective patient care for our cardiac patients . Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, the consultants
