Chemotherapy Staff Nurse

Our nursing team in our Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital currently have an opportunity for a part time Chemotherapy Nurse. Continue your journey with us whilst we'll support you to be your best.

The Role

Whether you join us from the NHS or a private setting, we will give you the greatest opportunities to fulfil your passion for nursing and grow your career. You will have the chance to inspire others to deliver the highest standards of patient care. The unit treats a variety of cancers including Breast, Cervical, Ovarian, Pancreatic, GI cancers and Prostate. You will work within a team of skilled chemotherapy nurses as well as part of a Multi-disciplinary team ensuring that our patients are treated with the best possible care. You will also assist with outpatient clinics, offering you an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge within Cancer Care.

With our consultant / nurse -led service, you will be working directly with some of the best clinical talent around, gaining experience with new practices, equipment and facilities. Some of the key duties, but not limited to are;

  • Lead by example and be an ambassador for the Nuffield Health way of caring.
  • Use clinical skills and an empathetic approach to meet each individual patient's need.
  • Be part of a multidisciplinary team and work with some of the best clinical talent around to experience new practices, equipment and facilities.
  • Deliver high quality holistic care to your patients
  • Administering systemic anti-cancer therapy.

  • Assisting consultants during Clinics.

  • Supporting Patients through their Cancer Journey.

  • Providing care for Acute Oncological emergencies.

  • You'll interact with practitioners from other departments because you understand the importance of continuity in patient care.

  • Being part of a team that constantly look for new and innovative ways to improve the care that is delivered.

  • Educate patients in the management of their care.

  • Be part of a family not only a team.


The Person

To succeed as a Chemotherapy Nurse you will;

  • Be NMC registered and be a qualified nurse, with Chemotherapy competency
  • Have experience of Oncology Nursing plus further professional training and experience. Preferably, a qualification within Oncology nursing.
  • You should have a minimum of 6 months chemotherapy administration experience

  • Be proficient in phlebotomy, cannulation and Central Venous Access Devices

Salary - Dependant on experience

Location - Warwick

Hours - Part-time, 30 hours per week
