About the Role

The Risk Manager will deliver a strong safety culture by developing, leading and implementing an effective risk management strategy to improve resident safety, address avoidable harms and reduce operational, regulatory, clinical and quality risks.

 

Providing expert advice on effective risk management including tools, structures,

processes and controls, the Risk Manager will develop a risk assurance framework including a “lines of defence” model to support the reduction of risk and avoidable harms to residents and other customers.

They will develop and implement policies and procedures to support effective risk management strategies, develop and manage in conjunction with the Health and Safety team the incident reporting system and develop, implement and monitor an effective’ early warning system’ relating to the care homes.

The Risk Manager will establish and quantify the organisation’s ‘risk appetite’, coordinate, advise and support the development of company risk registers and risk appetite assessments, and provide support, education, and training for senior managers on all aspects of risk management and to build risk awareness throughout the organisation.

About You

With a Degree / Diploma in a Risk Management related area, or equivalent relevant experience, you have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with experience of leadership and the ability to influence others and affect change.

With experience of working in a health or social care environment and of working across multi-disciplinary teams, you are a natural analytical thinker, problem solver and decision maker, and have a proactive and resilient approach to work.

You have a proven background in the development of risk management strategy and have a developed knowledge of risk assurance and governance frameworks.

This role is flexible on location with some travel to care homes across the UK and the Darlington Central Support Office.
