Brilliant opportunity for a Chemotherapy Senior Staff Nurse to join the Chemo Day Unit @ London Bridge Hospital, Private Care @ Guys
As Senior Staff Nurse for our chemo day care unit, you will be responsible for working in a supporting experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment. This will include meeting their medical, physical and emotional needs by effectively communicating with the patient and their families
As deputy to the sister/charge nurse the senior staff nurse is instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of clinical care are delivered. To be an advocate for the patient, working within the multidisciplinary team. Day to day smooth running of the unit working together with other clinical areas to ensure safe patient flow. Ensure high levels of professional behaviour are adhered to at all times.

Skills & Experience:
- NMC registered Nurse
- Experienced/competent in Chemotherapy administration
- Post registration experience within haematology or oncology setting or equivalent
- Clinical skills in venepuncture, cannulation and the administration of intravenous drugs.
- Wide and evidence-based knowledge of systemic anti-cancer treatments e.g. chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy etc and the known and lesser-known side effects of these

The position will be based in our Chemo Day unit & Outpatients department based in Private Care @ Guys, We currently 18 Chairs and 5 outpatient rooms and the unit supports all specialties in Cancer
Our private cancer services include outpatient and inpatient chemotherapy, haematology appointments and haematology treatment. We also offer radiotherapy on campus as part of the London Radiotherapy Centre. Complementary Therapy and Support Counselling is also made available to our patients.
