Distant Island Allowance of £1,971 per annum

NHS Shetland is looking for an experienced Senior Charge Nurse to manage a 22 bedded general medical ward at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick.

Applicants will have experience of managing ward environments, facilitating learning and developing teams, quality and care assurance and quality improvement.

The general medical ward at the Gilbert Bain Hospital is a 24/7 receiving ward caring for patients with a wide range of medical conditions. (add healthcare link)  The Gilbert Bain Hospital is a remote and rural district general hospital with two wards; Medical and Surgical. Both wards provide services to all age groups including paediatrics, care of the elderly and also end of life care. The general medical ward also provides care for patients who require admissions for mental health assessments.
