An opportunity has arisen within the Adult Mental Health Service to appoint 2 Community Mental Health Nurses within the Newport Integrated CMHT based at Goldtops in Newport, one in Newport East and one in Newport West.

The successful candidates will be senior members of the Community Mental Health Team and will be responsible for the care coordination of a caseload of service users who are experiencing severe mental health difficulties, and will have additional complex needs. 

They will work collaboratively across the wide ranging multi-disciplinary services and agencies to provide effective delivery of health and social care, supporting a programme of recovery and social inclusion within the area.  The successful candidates will also, as part of the staff resource,  support the delivery of timely and effective intervention to all individuals who are in need of urgent mental health assessment and management.

The successful candidates will be expected to develop close working relationships with the other aspects of the Service both community and Inpatient Unit, as well as develop a broad knowledge of the resources available across the Borough.  They will be expected to support the Team Leader to achieve organisational targets. The successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a proven track record of working with service users with complex mental health needs.  They will have a commitment to providing person centred care and will, through their actions at all times demonstrate a strong value base and a preparedness to embrace change.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
