Band 7 – Ward Manager – USC Nevill Hall Hospital

The Unscheduled Care Division at Nevill Hall Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and highly-motivated individual with proven clinical and managerial experience as a Ward Manager/ Deputy Ward Manager  to motivate, inspire and lead the nursing team in achieving high standards whilst promoting patient safety.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the line management and supervision of all registered nurses, healthcare support workers and assistant practitioners within their team. They must be a good and effective communicator, who can demonstrate problem solving skills with the ability to work under pressure, managing staff and delivering patient focused care. 

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge and skills in caring for adults and older adults, with a range of medical conditions whilst enduring mental illness, ensuring that both their mental and physical health needs are met. They must be able to ensure that the nursing and healthcare staff on the ward are providing care to the expected standards while ensuring an understanding and knowledge of all the relevant polices and regulations within this role.

Further to this the successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Nurse for unscheduled care, to ensure and demonstrate the delivery of a high standard of care in a safe, compassionate, responsive, effective and well led environment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
