In operation for 140 years, Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services is a 200-bed facility providing specialist care for people with a wide range of needs from rehabilitation to end-of-life care in Harold’s Cross Hospice, Blackrock Hospice and Wicklow Hospice.

Description:

3 Clinical Nurse Specialists positions in Community Palliative Care:

1. 1.0 WTE (39 hours) | Indefinite Duration contract | Based in Wicklow

2. 1.0 WTE (39 hours) | Indefinite Duration contract | Based in Blackrock

3. 0.5 WTE (19.5 hours) | Specified Purpose contract (approx. 12 months) | Based in Wicklow

All positions are H.S.E. funded

Opportunities are now available to Registered General Nurses, with specialist palliative care knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience who wish to develop their career to that of Clinical Nurse Specialist in palliative care (CNSp). There are two whole-time indefinite duration positions, one in Wicklow and one in Blackrock. There is one temporary specified contract in Wicklow, meaning this is a temporary position to cover a career break for approximately one year.

The successful candidates will join the established Community Palliative Care Team (CPCT) and develop as an expert practitioner in the delivery of comprehensive person-centred palliative care.

Essential Requirements

· Be a registered nurse in the General Division on the active Register of Nurses

· Hold a relevant (level 8) post-graduate qualification in Palliative Care

· A full current drivers licence and access to a car

· Five years post qualification experience

· Two years post qualification experience in Specialist Palliative Care.

· Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development

· Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling your professional responsibility within your scope of practice.

A panel may be formed from which future Clinical Nurse Specialists positions in Community Palliative Care for all Wicklow and Blackrock (permanent, temporary, full time and part time) may be filled in line with Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services’ panel management guidelines.
