An exciting opportunity has arisen for a  Full Time, Band 7 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Ward Manager of the Adult Acute Mental Health Unit in Talygarn, County Hospital.

We are looking for an experienced RMN who is highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic, who will demonstrate commitment to the ongoing development of our inpatient service.

You will be responsible for ensuring that high standards of care are delivered and maintained to patients admitted to our ward. The ward currently provides 20 in-patient acute mental health beds, taking admissions from the borough of Torfaen. 

The successful post holder will oversee the management of the ward and therefore leadership qualities, skills and attributes would be essential for the successful candidate. As a Ward Manager you will be responsible for the assessment and implementation of high quality care to patients who are admitted to the inpatient environment.  A key role is to provide support to patients and their families and loved ones during the admission and facilitate safe discharge.

Within this role you will provide expert clinical advice to junior members of staff and assist the senior nurse in running the ward in a professional, effective and safe manner. You will need to possess  sound clinical knowledge and have experience in the care of adults with complex needs and be able to demonstrate skills in clinical leadership.
