Are you an experienced Dementia Specialist, looking for a challenging new role within a team who are dedicated to improving the lives of those living with dementia? Barchester have an exciting position available to support dementia services across the South of England. In this varied role you will review and support the clinical performance of each home in the region to achieve maximum performance in all aspects of clinical care. You will predominantly support our Memory Lane communities, but your expertise may be called upon in any of the homes or hospitals across Barchester’s portfolio. We are looking for an inspirational leader who is able to positively manage change, who will work collaboratively with the dementia care team as well as the wider business.
NEED TO HAVE:
• RMN qualification would be beneficial
• 5 years current experience in dementia care
• Understand current CQC regulatory requirements and framework
• Awareness of Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines
• Demonstrable ability to produce well developed care plans and risk assessments
• Previous experience auditing, investigating, analysing and reporting on quality issues
• Full UK driving licence
NEED TO DO:
• Participate in the development and implementation of the dementia strategy
• Review the clinical performance of each home, ensuring regulatory compliance in relation to dementia care provision
• Identify concerns and implement actions to address any issues
• Analysis and maintenance of clinical governance database to inform clinical improvement plans
• Ensure psychological and/or emotional support is provided to residents
• Support senior clinical staff in the home with clinical investigations or complaints relating to the dementia care community
• Offer advice and encouragement at home level to develop dementia care improvement projects
• Provide support for the activities team in the home
• Support the care practitioner programme and the mentoring/revalidation process for qualified nurses
• Develop close working relationships with managers across the business
• Provide informal and formal training to staff in line with the dementia care well-being framework
