Catalyst Choices – who are we?

To put it simply, we are the catalyst for innovative and personalised care.

We provide services for adults with additional needs, including learning disabilities, as well as older people and those with dementia.

As the Catalyst Choices family, we are a specialist, independent, employee-owned organisation based in Warrington and its surrounding areas.

We are driven by choice. We’re flexible. We’re collaborative and, we are forward-looking – everything you need in a place of work!

Who are we looking for?

At Catalyst Choices, we are looking to grow our family with compassionate people who genuinely want to make a meaningful difference to someone’s life in care.

Through our all our services, whether that be Day Opportunities, Extra Care Housing or Residential Care, we want you to build trusting relationships as a Registered Nurse and pledge a promise to do what you can to make the lives of everyone we support as enjoyable and as safe as possible.

Our pledge to you? Well, we pledge to make sure you are developed and encouraged as a key member of the Catalyst Choices Family. We take care of our own, and you will be no exception.

What we need from you?

As well as being a great person who is passionate about working with people in care, we need you to confidently guide your team as part of the Catalyst Choices family. We need you to make sure everyone’s voice is heard whilst ensuring the health, safety and happiness of our people in care is the best it can be – and that includes: The important bits and the responsibilities…

Your team:

  • Work closely with the rest of your team (family if you will) to make sure everyone’s voice is heard. We know not everyone likes to voice an opinion, but we need you to create a trusting environment and encourage everyone to contribute.
  • Be that middle ground person. Participate in staff and, ‘people in our care’ meetings proactively and when you’re needed. We need someone like you to deliver great communication with not only staff, but with patients and their relatives.
  • Upkeep and build upon the knowledge and abilities of your team. It’s great to share and mentor – so as you supervise, we want you to make sure professional development is key (including any relevant training).

Your people in care:

  • The health and safety of the people in your care is the most important thing. We need you to report any signs of ill health of any person in your care and make referrals to GPs and professionals as needed.
  • Make sure care plans are ready and maintained with plenty of involvement from the people you’re supporting, their relatives and other health professionals – in accordance with NMC guidelines and company policy.
  • Assess the social and health care needs of any new people in our care. Build up a relationship, keep that rapport and keep us in the loop with regular reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records and make sure that each person in care has a personalised plan (including their pledges from you, and to you!)
  • We will also need you to carry out regular checks on anyone in your care at agreed intervals with your wider team – including management. Work well with your colleagues and ensure a clear handover is given, meaning all staff are fully briefed and informed at the start and end of every shift.

We will also need you to:

  • Administer prescribed medicines and document this in accordance with our company procedure and NMC guidelines.
  • Look after our environment, be sure that there is a minimum amount of waste in relation to inconstances aids, wipes, dressing, electricity and more.
  • Adhere to all appropriate NMC guidelines and regulations and provide/maintain all records as required.
  • Ensure all information of a confidential nature you deal with during your time at Catalyst Choices is not shared with any third parties.
  • Upkeep the security of the home at all times and help your team by carrying out any other tasks that may be given to you.
