TASIS (The American School in England) is an international school and community situated on a beautiful campus in the small village of Thorpe, Surrey, providing the dual benefits of a safe environment within easy reach of London.

TASIS is a member of the Independent Schools Association and has both Day and Boarding students whose ages range from 3 - 18 years.

The School is dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge through curiosity and encourages each student to take responsibility for the learning process and each employee for their own professional development.

Based in our dedicated Health Centre (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), you will work  with a team of 5 nurses and an administrator, to provide a full nursing service to both day  and boarding students - aged 3 to 18 years - whilst students are on campus. Ideally you will be able to work term time, 2 days per week (with an overnight shift) and one Friday overnight per month.

Your main duties include adhering to the NMC Code for Nurses and be familiar with Professional Practice and other NMC advisory papers. You will provide a high standard of nursing care to all patients and assist with health assessment, immunisation and health promotion programmes. You must also ensure that whilst providing confidential advice and/or support to all students and staff as necessary, that the Code of Confidentiality and GDPR standards are maintained. You must also engage in safe practice and professional conduct to safeguard children and mitigate against the potential for misunderstandings or situations being misconstrued.

With regards to experience/knowledge/skills you will have the ability to prioritise and manage changing workloads and situations, including the ability to Triage effectively. You will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Paediatric nursing, Minor Injuries Unit, Practice Nursing or equivalent. You will have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a sound understanding of the issues of adolescence and mental health.
