Have previous Band 5 and/or Band 6 level knowledge of critical care nursing? Hold a UK recognised critical care qualification? Do you have experience mentoring junior staff and are you ready to take on a more senior role within our 70 bed capacity critical care department? This exciting Band 6 opportunity will develop your leadership and management skills within our proactive multi-disciplinary team. We will offer you the following routes to develop within our teams. In house shift leader development programme • depending on unit specialty, education in the management of the neuro, trauma and cardiac patients with university accreditation. • access to the Trust leadership development programmes • secondment opportunities into critical care outreach and critical care education teams Let your skills and experience shine in an environment where excellence is a way of life. Our three critical care units cover a wide-range of specialities which include:

  • major trauma
  • neurosurgery
  • neurology
  • cardiac surgery
  • cardiology
  • hepatobilary
  • haematology
  • cancer
  • renal

By working with us we can offer you a multitude of career choices using the skills you have acquired so you can apply them in a number of other specialist roles including: clinical educator, outreach to support our former patients, organ donation or become an advanced nurse practitioner or a site nurse practitioner. Your professional advancement is important to us and you can opt to do specialist courses in neuro critical care and trauma, shift leader development and other specialist management courses on offer within the Trust leadership development centre.
