A great place to work
At Imperial College Healthcare you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people. You’ll be working with leading clinicians of all backgrounds pushing boundaries in patient care.
You’ll get an experience like no other and will fast forward your career. Our staff included RCN Nurse of the Year, Rising Star and finalist in just one year.
All of our hospitals have quick transport access to the West End and Westfield shopping and leisure centre, and a range of local bars, cafes and restaurants – ideal for team socials!
Early in your career
We will help you develop a strong foundation to a lifelong nursing career. Our band 5 opportunities across all our specialties include outstanding development pathways, mentoring by senior nurses and great team working. Undertake a year-long preceptorship development programme while working in your chosen specialty.
There are also rotation programmes across three clinic areas over 18 months to develop your skills in a range of areas before choosing where you want to stay and develop specialist skills. This then puts you in a great position for Band 6 roles and the Trust leadership programmes.
All band 5 staff can rotate wards after six months through the internal transfer scheme, allowing you to gain experience across a number of specialties.
Imperial has specialty preceptorship programmes in critical care, midwifery, paediatrics and accident & emergency.
Development opportunities
Preceptorship is available to all newly qualified nurses and midwives, and supports the transition from student to confident practitioner and life-long learner
Please state in your application which area of specialty you would like to apply for.
