School Medical Staff Required
Full time/part time/job share • Term time only
Founded in 1646, Reading Blue Coat is a leading independent day school of 820 pupils; 719 boys aged 11 – 18 and a further 101 girls in the co-educational sixth form. The School is located on a beautiful 46 acre campus in the village of Sonning, just outside Reading.
The School employs more than 170 staff, of whom 50% are academic staff, and provides a stimulating, friendly and supportive atmosphere in which each pupil can realise his or her full intellectual, physical, and creative potential.
We require additional professional staff in our well-equipped School Medical Centre on campus, to provide medical care and pastoral support to pupils and staff. You will work Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00 (37.5 hours per week) to assist our senior School Nurse with the day-to-day operation of the Medical Centre. Applications will be considered from suitably qualified applicants who wish to work part time or on a job share basis.
In addition, when required, you will assist our qualified Sports Therapists to provide occasional immediate care of pupils and staff for sports fixtures during the autumn term and spring terms. Additional hours will also be required to support other occasional School events outside the School day, such as open days.
We are pleased to consider applications from a variety of suitably qualified medical professionals, such as registered Nurses, Associate Nurses, or Healthcare professionals.
Some previous experience of working with children and young people is desirable. Of paramount importance is a friendly, approachable personality; excellent communication skills; and an ability to work independently with confidence.
We offer an excellent reward and benefits package. Salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience.
We offer a very pleasant working environment in superb surroundings; 5 weeks paid holiday plus public holidays (pro rata to contracted period of service); excellent pension scheme; free meals on duty; and many other benefits.
