Job Details

Fulfil your potential in hospitals that make history:

Charing Cross, Hammersmith, St Mary’s, Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea and Western Eye.

Progress your triage and acute assessment skills as a registered nurse within a specialist 24/7 assessment unit that has been specifically designed to manage the emergency pathway for haematology and renal patients at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This small but busy assessment unit enables direct access to specialist beds at Hammersmith Hospital.

Are you a Band 5 registered nurse with experience in emergency department, acute medical assessment including triage, critical care or haemato-oncology nursing? Then you may have some important transferable skills that may lead you to a new and stimulating career opportunity in this innovative unit, where you will be able develop specialist knowledge and skills in the exciting specialties of renal and haematology nursing that includes transplantation across both services.

The unit is run on behalf of both services by the haematology department, which is one of Europe’s leading haematology and stem cell transplant centres. This offers nurses a unique and exciting opportunity to select a career pathway that will provide a wide range of malignant and non-malignant haematology experience, including caring for patients with blood diseases such as leukaemia, lymphoma, sickle cell disease and clotting disorders including haemophilia, whilst working at the cutting edge of technological and therapeutic advancements in care. There is also opportunity to gain invaluable acute renal experience working alongside our renal colleagues.

We, as a team, are committed to the professional development of our staff and we provide a good range of educational/training opportunities that include a post-registration modular pathway to a degree in cancer care and other relevant specialist modules. We are strongly committed to staff development as we view this as essential to delivering high standards of patient care and positive patient experience.

At our Trust, you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people.

“We offer a flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the individual and the service. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need”.
