Starting: 29th January 2022. UK wide module delivered online and remotely

KYN210 Understanding nursing: knowledge and theory is a level 2 undergraduate, theory module of 60 credits that is part of the BSc (Honours) Nursing.

This module is studied by students from all four fields of practice – Adult, Children and Young People, Learning Disabilities, and Mental Health. And by students across all four UK countries.

It focuses on the ongoing development of the student’s theoretical knowledge that underpins nursing practice for safe and effective care. Tutors on this module will deliver tutorials once every fortnight over a 30 weeks, as a synchronous group tutorial with normally eight students. Tutors will facilitate learning, growth and development of the students against the module outcomes, carry out assessment preparation and script marking.

As a tutor on this module you will need to be a nurse with  “live” registration with NMC Sub-part 1; within one or more of the NMC fields of practice Adult, Children & Young People, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health. And hold a degree or equivalent qualification in healthcare subject.

You will need evidence of achievement of post graduate teaching qualification or equivalent or demonstrate a willingness to undertake submission to Advance HE for Fellowship or Senior fellowship.  You will need to have an enthusiasm for and an understanding of how to build an active learning community, using innovative teaching approaches such as Enquiry Based Learning to provide opportunities for students to deep dive into four fields of practice enabling them to co-create learning and knowledge.  You will be committed to supporting student learning through critical enquiry, improvement science, patient safety, life course trajectory, service provision and wellbeing. And have an ability to nurture students to grow in self awareness as they form their professional identity using reflection, critical thinking, effective communication, leadership, values and concepts of nursing.

We would like to encourage applications for tutors to teach on all fours fields of nursing practice. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who hold registration in Children, Learning Disability & Mental Health fields.

To work with us you will need access to the internet and a good broadband service to support the delivery of this module online.

Closing date for Applications: 9th December 2021.

We promote diversity in employment and welcome applications from all sections of the community
