Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist

The opportunity

  • Provide the highest level of expertise in all aspects of wound management. As our tissue viability nurse specialist you will:

  • Contribute to the promotion and development of nursing in the field of tissue viability creating and maintaining a culture of effective patient care which has measurable, achievable and desirable outcomes for patients.

  • Assist nurse colleagues to assess complex wounds and develop plans, including those for specialist interventions, to meet the health needs of patients

  • Work with our infection prevention nurse to ensure the lowest rates of surgical site infection

  • Ensure the delivery of quality outcomes and the management of risk with the use of audit and implementation of research based care

  • Provide clinical expertise to both inpatient and outpatient departments in any areas relating to wound care and tissue viability. You will be responsible and accountable for own practice within the clinical area and for delivering a high quality service to all stakeholders whilst identifying areas for development and implementing and evaluating change.

The person

To succeed as a tissue viability nurse specialist you will need:

  • 2 years experience as a tissue viability nurse

  • First level registration

  • Extensive post registration experience, some of which will have been in Dermatology, Tissue Viability or a related field

  • Extensive knowledge of speciality

  • teaching and presenting skills

  • Experience of audit

Key information about the role.

This is a new role giving the successful candidate the opportunity to make a real difference to our patients.

Salary - Up to £45,000 per annum

Closing Date - 31/01/2022

Location - Oxford Hospital

Hours - Part Time/Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
