The DAT programme is a new and exciting treatment offer for service users in Sandwell. As a Registered Nurse you will be part of the multi-disciplinary clinical team in our service. You will bring demonstrable post registration experience and be committed to developing new models of care and treatment. Working closely with service users each day, you will provide support and assistance in their use of diamorphine as a treatment option alongside providing advice and referral to other support services.

You will have experience of working with people with complex needs, including the use of alcohol and other drugs, and a commitment to making the lives of our service users healthier and safer by providing the best care and treatment possible. You will have a strong harm reduction approach to your work and a commitment to providing a compassionate and safe service for our service users. You will have knowledge of general health issues affecting people who use drugs and alcohol and have a good understanding of safeguarding and clinical guidelines for our service user  group.

You will be part of a wider clinical team for the service led by our Clinical Lead. You will have a willingness and desire to work in a dynamic and responsive environment and be able to demonstrate your ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, service users and external teams across the borough. An inclusive and respectful approach is key to how we work to ensure that our service users have a choice and their needs are met.
