Community Based Survey Nurses/Midwives/Healthcare Assistants.

NatCen Social Research is recruiting nurses/midwives/healthcare assistants, who are venepuncture skilled, for community-based data collection on health-related studies in England, Scotland and Wales.

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants living in or around the following areas: London, Greater London and surrounding counties, Blackburn, Bolton, Brighton, Cambridge, Chester, Canterbury, Coventry, Crewe, Derby, Darlington, Guildford, Lancaster, Lincoln, Luton, Milton Keynes, Newport, Norwich, Oldham, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Reading, Sheffield, Slough, Swindon, Sunderland, Taunton, Torquay, Cleveland, Wakefield, Worcester, Walsall, York.

We also provide dedicated support for NatCen fieldworkers through the NatCen Biomedical Centre and guidance or confirmation for NMC revalidation activity.

You need to have:

- current experience taking venous blood samples in adults and young people aged 16yrs+ (paediatric phlebotomy would be an advantage);

- the right to work in the UK and have availability to work for NatCen for a minimum of 20hrs / week which includes evenings and weekends;

- a full UK driving licence, use of your own car and a willingness to cover a workload within a wide geographical area around your home postcode;

- broadband internet connection at home;

- good IT skills (eg in use of email, laptops/tablets/PCs, smartphones)

- evidence of Hepatitis B immunity, along with Rubella, Measles and TB vaccination.

- good organisational skills for managing workloads given.

- good standards of verbal and written English which enables friendly and courteous communication to engage others in the studies we work on.
