Our Service
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network provides care to more than 400,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide with a focus on providing preventive and health promoting programs in the community and hospital substitution/avoidance programs. The Northern Mental Health Division currently has a variety of mental health nursing positions available in our diverse and contemporary mental health service that incorporates Adult Inpatient and Community, Older Persons Mental Health and Forensic Mental Health Services. We welcome applications from mental health nurses looking to further their careers in any of these areas and build on their existing mental health expertise.

Experience, Salary & Benefits
We are keen to hear from you if you have significant and demonstrated mental health nursing experience. We are looking for staff currently working as an experienced band 5 (or equivalent) upwards with a minimum of 3 years’ experience that can be demonstrated via CV, interview and positive references from two current line managers. We have a range of opportunities including:

  • Clinical Nurses and Associate Nurse Unit Managers (band 6 equivalent) –on the current exchange rate, this is a wage ranging from: £42,698 - £53,971 as a base salary before any potential shift penalties
  • Nurse Unit Managers and Nurse Consultants (band 7 equivalent) - on the current exchange rate, this is a wage ranging from: £ 61,145 - £63,878
  • Nursing Director (band 8A/8B equivalent) - on the current exchange rate, this is a wage of: £78,565

  In addition to your salary you will also receive 12% superannuation and are eligible to salary sacrifice part of your pre-tax pay enabling you to take home an additional £1067 - £1601 per year (*dependent upon individual circumstances and based on current exchange rate)   What you'll need to succeed
You must also be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate and you must hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated competence in recovery-oriented mental health nursing practice, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a mental healthcare setting.
