Job Details

Demelza Hospice Care for Children is one of the leading children’s hospices in the UK helping children who may not live a long life, to live a full life. Every year our work is a lifeline to over 750 children, young people and families throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex; helping them to build memories, for however long they have together.

Now is a very exciting time in Demelza’s 24 year history as we implement our new 2022-2027 strategy, continually adapting services to best meet the needs of the children and families that we support.

We are seeking a Director of Clinical Services who will provide a strategic vision for clinical services that will support the delivery of our newly emerging strategy, driving forward evidence-based solutions to best meet need. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will act as the clinical lead for the organisation, providing visible and proactive leadership to the clinical teams, actively engaging all colleagues and volunteers in ongoing development and evolution of clinical input into our services. This is also an opportunity to work collaboratively with healthcare and other partners, share expertise and resources to achieve the best outcomes for the children and families.

This is an exceptionally fulfilling and highly rewarding role where you will be able to use your skills to make maximum impact, work with passionate and committed colleagues and make a positive difference on the lives of children, young people and families.

The Candidate

  • RSCN/RN (Child) and/or RGN/RN (Adult).
  • Significant knowledge of children with complex needs
  • An innovative, collaborative, ‘outside the box’ approach to developing and delivering services that best meets the needs of the babies, children, young people and families.
  • Proven ability to engage with all stakeholders and be a visible leader, promoting a culture of positive inclusive leadership.
  • Demonstrable experience of business and project planning, budget setting and management.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with other providers and services to deliver on defined

Outcomes.

  • Act as an exemplary ambassador for the Charity at a range of events and occasions, including media and thought leadership.
  • Willingness to support regular and pre-agreed periods of senior out of hour on call support

Closing date for applications: Monday 14th February 2021
