Bank Paediatric Staff Nurse - Covid19 Testing Hub

Monday to Friday

BANK SHIFTS, £18.61 per hour

 

We are currently recruiting for a number of Bank Paediatric Nurses (RCN) to work in our Covid 19 Testing Hub at the Cromwell Hospital.
 

Role Overview: 

This role is based in our Covid19 testing hub and involves safe collection of Covid19 specimens for our staff and patient groups.

You shall support the senior nurses with the smooth running of the service and provide a high-quality, safe and holistic service to adults and paediatric patients attending the testing centre.

This includes the safe collection and management of patient specimens with minimal discomfort or distress to the patient.

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Provide safe collection of COVID19 PCR tests, ensuring specimens are safely handled at all times in accordance with hospital policies and UKAS requirements.
  • Prioritising patient care needs.
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering a high standard of holistic family centred care  to  children  and  their  families.   
  • Providing  the  highest  standard  of  nursing  care  through ongoing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe and effective care.
  • Possess effective time management skills to ensure patients’ needs are met
  • Engaging in and promoting multi-disciplinary teamwork alongside: Specialist Doctors, nurses, interpreters and therapists.
  • Understand the principles of delivering prescribed treatment safely to achieve positive patient outcomes.

     

What you’ll bring: 

  • NMC Registered Nurse, 1st level
  • Ability to plan and prioritise care for patients
  • Good time management
  • It would be desirable to have experience of phlebotomy and cannulation and/or Covid-19 swabbing.
