Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist for our prestigious private hospital – the Cromwell Hospital.
The Lead Nurse is an influential role and recognised as being crucial to the delivery of Cromwell Hospital’s Strategy. You’ll be a credible nurse with demonstrable expertise in advance wound therapies.   

As well as leading a team of TV link nurses, you’ll have the responsibility for leading the tissue viability service- developing high quality, evidence based, wound care practice in the management of Inpatients and Outpatients with complex and / or chronic wounds in the Cromwell Hospital.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide strong clinical leadership in the realm of tissue viability education and nursing care
  • Lead the development and facilitation of new procedures, techniques, protocols and policies for the Cromwell Hospital tissue viability services
  • Promote nurse led clinics where appropriate, including, but not limited to the diabetic foot, leg ulcer therapy and complex wounds
  • Promote and enhance evidence-based practice, ensuring care delivered follows local and national guidelines. 
  • Manage the service within the allocated budget and work with the lead nurse in developing new or related services to enhance the patient experience

What you’ll bring:

  • Registered Nurse Adult/ RN (essential)
  • Teaching/assessing qualification (desirable)
  • Post-registration study in Tissue Viability (essential)
  • Experience in advanced therapies in wound management including compression bandaging and negative pressure wound therapy (essential)
  • Knowledge of NMC Codes and guidelines and their implications for practice
  • Teaching/training experience, evidence of continuing professional development (essential)
