With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will provide high-quality care and support to patients who may suffer from mental illness, personality disorder and/or learning disabilities, while also supporting your colleagues and promote good teamwork.

As a Charge Nurse, you’ll lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and delivering of clinical services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Utilise effective communication to develop professional therapeutic relationships, optimise patient engagement, and facilitate interdisciplinary working
• Promote a culture in which the assessment, planning, and review of care plans are delivered effectively within the broader responsibilities of the key worker
• Manage sensitive, highly complex, and contentious communication, referring complex issues as appropriate
• Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation, government and local policy and best practice including the Mental Health Act. Clinical Governance and Standards for Better Health.
• Promote and ensure that each member of the team works to the standards of ethical practice
• To participate in maintaining the physical, relational and procedural security of the service to ensure the safety of all.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A relevant RMN/RMNH/RNLD nursing qualification and registration
• Experience of secure environment and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Experience of assessing and teaching junior staff
• A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
• A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice
• Experience of working in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience of report writing.
• Administrative, planning and organisational skills.
• Proven track record of leadership skills.
