We're Britain's largest Healthcare Charity and we're serious about shaping the nation's health. Join us and we'll give you the greatest opportunities to fulfil your passion for nursing. You'll have the chance to grow your career while inspiring others to deliver the highest standards of patient care.
We have several exciting opportunities for Senior Staff Nurses to join our team in opening a brand-new hospital in London, Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital, opening in 2022. At Nuffield health we are committed to providing our patients the highest standards of care, and we want you to be the best you can be, so you can deliver the best care possible, by providing you with development opportunities, and a unique wellbeing offering.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and you will be able to provide clinical leadership, act as a mentor and role model, manage complex patient care, and lead the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse. You will support individuals and teams to deliver safe, high quality and effective patient care that is responsive to the needs of our patients and their families. Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with consultants, hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, patients.
As a Senior Staff Nurse in Cardiac Surgery you will:
Report and investigate clinical incidents and risks, completing all documentation and suggesting potential solutions.
Support the development of clinical cardiac surgical competencies in line with clinical needs, policy recommendations, risk assessments and evidence-based guidelines.
Take on additional responsibilities and extend scope of practice in accordance with patient, clinical and service needs eg. BLS Trainer/Link Practitioner.
Take charge of a shift, co-ordinating and delivering work activities and leading clinical colleagues and students, in accordance with skill mix.
Deputise for Clinical Leader during absence.
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, with cardiothoracic surgical specialist skills training should include postgraduate qualifications and a minimum of ILS, ideally ALS. You will have extensive experience in managing level 1 patients, be accustomed to being the shift Nurse in Charge and have experience in mentoring. You've also got extensive knowledge and will have experience working in your current setting at a senior level. You'll be accountable for leading, motivating, educating and supervising the nursing and multidisciplinary team.
Helping you feel good.
We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy and valued. That's why we've developed a benefits package with you in mind. Feel your best with emotional wellbeing support, gym membership, private healthcare, expert financial advice and more. At Nuffield Health, we take care of what's important to you.
