The CQC highlighted that patient care was at the heart of the service and this is testimony to the commitment, skill and pride of the team at the hospital.

Our highly successful, purpose-built hospital, deals with complex surgery and a vast range of specialities involving some 300 consultants. There are 80 bedrooms, an 8 bed Level 3 critical care unit and 6 theatres (2 Stryker laparoscopic and 2 laminar flow). These facilities, and high standards of care, make us one of the leading providers of private healthcare in the area. Our staff are welcoming, friendly and supportive, headed by a caring and effective management team. We're close to the city centre and central railway station.


The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Spinal Nurse Specialist to join our Clinical Team at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will be responsible for;

  • Providing specialist nurse services for patients undergoing Spinal procedures, both inpatients and outpatients.

  • Liaising with the Theatre management team in the booking and organisation of surgical procedures.

  • Supporting pre assessment in preoperative assessment of patients, assisting surgeons with preoperative preparation of patients for surgery, organising diagnostic tests.

  • Facilitating data submission to the British Spinal Registry.

  • Attending MDT meetings.

  • Supporting nursing staff to develop their knowledge and skills in spinal surgeries and aftercare



The person

To succeed as a Spinal Nurse Specialist you will need:

  • Valid NMC Registration

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Spinal Surgery

  • Teaching and assessing (ENB 998) or equivalent.

  • Spinal course qualification desirable.

  • To be able to work autonomously and also as part of a team

  • Experience of involvement in clinical audit

Salary - up to 29,000.00 pro-rata (dependant on experience)
