This three-year, part-time, interprofessional Masters, taught entirely online, is offered by the University of Edinburgh leading to the degree of Master of Science (MSc), with exit points at Pg Diploma level (two years) and Pg Certificate level (one year).

 

  • Designed to be completed alongside an ophthalmic post so no need to take time out of practice or training. Improves clinically applied knowledge for hospital and community optometrists, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, dispensing opticians, other ophthalmic AHPs, junior doctors, ophthalmology specialist trainees and GPs with a Special Interest in ophthalmology. Enhances your level of clinical learning making you more effective in patient care. Accredited by The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and The British and Irish Orthoptic Society (BIOS). Aligned with The Royal College of Ophthalmologists Ophthalmic Practitioner Training (OPT) and Ophthalmic Specialist Training (OST) curricula. Covers the major OPT subspecialities of macula, glaucoma, cataract and emergency care and all other ophthalmic subspecialties. Scholarship funding available (subject to eligibility). Access to extensive electronic library and interactive anatomy and physiology resources. Research and audit opportunities. Study with us from the comfort of your own home or workplace. All you need is a computer, internet service and 10-15 hours per week.
