An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to work within mixed Acute and female PICU wards at Barnt Green Priory Hospital. The Multi- Disciplinary Team (MDT) on site consists of a Psychiatrist, Specialist Doctor, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Nurses and Health Care Assistants. The post is part-time and will be across two days; (12 hours).

The successful applicant will provide support to the Registered Psychologist for the service by delivering group therapy and individual therapy interventions, writing individual care plans, developing positive behavioural support strategies and involvement in weekly session planning and supporting with scoring from psychometrics. The post holder will be expected to attend CPA and MDT meetings.

Experience in the delivery of group therapy programmes is desired and experience in the delivery of individual therapy interventions is also desired. The preferred candidate will have experience working within a mental health inpatient setting and hold a BSc qualification in Psychology or higher. Previous experience as an assistant psychologist is also desirable.

Priory Hospital Barnt Green is located in the stunning Lickey Hills Country Park, 10 miles south of Birmingham City Centre. We have thirty-three beds across three wards including ten NHS Psychiatric Intensive Care beds for women, thirteen NHS acute beds for men and women and ten private beds for men and women. In addition to providing inpatient services, the hospital has a large Outpatient department and regional conference facilities.

Throughout 2020 Priory Hospital Barnt Green has undergone an extensive refurbishment to provide high quality facilities. The first phase of the project was completed in November 2020, with the full completion planned for March 2020.
