Paediatrics Nurse | Children’s ward | Equivalent Band 5 | Leeds | Annualised Hours| Opportunity for training and development | Part time 23 hours per week

Spire Hospital Leeds has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, focused Paediatric Staff Nurse to join our expanding team. You will be working throughout our hospital and will provide first class care for the patient’s journey from pre-assessment and post-operative care on our excellent children and young people’s unit, threw to outpatients, imaging and Physio/rehab. We undertake a wide range of operations, including urology, general surgery, plastics, ENT and Orthopaedics both as day cases and overnight stays. A variety of medical patients are also seen in our outpatient and paediatric clinics.

 

Spire Leeds Hospital, located in Roundhay, Leeds, has been treating patients for almost 30 years. We are the region’s largest private hospital in terms of the range of services we offer and the number of consultants we work with.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

You will provide pre and post-operative care to children and young people, assisting in their recovery and getting them ready for discharge – this will include wound care, assisting with personal care and providing emotional support at what can be a stressful time. You will liaise with their parents, guardians and consultants giving advice and making recommendations to improve the patients’ wellbeing, whilst also being adept at identifying a deteriorating patient and making on the spot, informed decisions.

 

Who we are looking for

 

Leeds Spire are looking for a registered Children’s Nurse with at least 6 months (post qualified) experience on a Paediatrics Ward, preferably with surgical ward experience however we are happy to consider medical or community background for nurses who are interested in developing their experience in this field.
