On 1st February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals became part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust – a truly once-in a generation development. Together, we are taking our first steps towards our vision of creating a brand-new centre of excellence, which will be the global leader in the research into and treatment of heart and lung disease in patients from pre-birth to old age. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12-month secondment to take on this vital leadership role at Harefield Hospital. The successful applicant(s) will work alongside the Harefield Lead Nurse and wider senior nursing team to provide high quality strategic, professional and operational nursing leadership. We are keen to engage someone with the experience and drive to support the delivery of ambitious elective and non-elective COVID recovery plan whilst maintaining the highest clinical standards of care.

You’ll play a vital role in the evolution of our new clinical group as well as other key projects such as the implementation of the Epic system scheduled for 2023. Mature leadership skills are essential to ensure that the multi-disciplinary workforce is well supported to respond effectively to current NHS challenges.

Applicants should have experience of managing multiple teams in an acute hospital setting and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering outstanding nursing services. You should also be able to demonstrate success in delivering effective, safe, cost-efficient services in a complex healthcare environment, including staff management, financial, risk and change management.
